Kitty Hosts A Lunch-Party For Her Owners, Sponsors and Staff
Owners, Sponsors and Staffincluding special guest Richard Waygood, the recently appointed PerformanceManager to the Senior British Eventing Team, got the red carpet treatment at a superblunch hosted by Great Britain's National, International and Olympic EventerKitty King on Saturday 4th February and Tracy from Aqueos wasdelighted to be among the invited guests – one of the many benefits of being anOwner or Sponsor.
Alwaysgrateful for the support she receives, Kitty's lunch-party at The Langley Tapnear Chippenham followed by another invitation to tour her event yard and meetthe horses was a way of thanking the 40 strong team of guests attending,celebrating the successes of 2016 and looking forward to an exciting 2017eventing season with the next Olympics in Tokyo 2020 in her sights. Duringlunch, Kitty gave an update on the progress of the 20+ horses she trainsincluding her recent Olympic ride, the magnificent Ceylor LAN owned by DianaBown, Jacky Owen and Samantha Wilson.
Awardedan MBE by Her Majesty The Queen in 2009 having thirty six years of uniquemilitary and equestrian experience from being the Riding Master of theHousehold Cavalry Mounted Regiment, the first military rider to completeBadminton in over twenty years and still competing in three day events, aformer Chef d'Equipe to the British CIC 2 Star Eventing Team, former Chefd'Equipe for multi Olympic Medalist British Dressage Team at the London and RioOlympics, Richard brings with him a wealth of skills and his new appointment tothe Senior British Eventing Team will see him aiming at the 2020 TokyoOlympics. Richard congratulated Kitty for her success in eventing and spokeabout the importance of teamwork and trust which Kitty and her team clearly hadand of adopting a flexible strategy necessary in a sport of a thousandvariables.
Oneof the owners of Ceylor LAN, Diana, spoke passionately about how excited she,Jacky and Samantha were of being in Rio for the Olympics watching Kitty andCeylor LAN competing over what they described was an extremely daunting andtechnically difficult cross-country course and how proud they were of the pairwho took everything in their stride.
Kittyis always on the lookout for that next horse with Olympic or Badmintonpotential and is open to talking to anyone interested in being a part of hersupport team as an Owner or Sponsor as she heads into an exciting new year onthe eventing circuit.
